They had non-smoking areas, but the smoke migrated from the smoking area and was a problem for me. I have allergic reactions to cigarette smoke, so I had problems in some of the casino areas and some of the restaurants. The rooms are very large and have all the comforts. I am not a gambler, but my wife and I do enjoy the San Diego area and we were traveling with friends. The community planned a short trip to the Viejas Casino and Resort. My wife and I live in a active adult community. They have a very nice non smoking section, and the ventilation is very good throughout. On the plus side, they are putting the finishing touches on a brand new wing of hotel rooms and gaming floor, so they will have over 2,000 slots besides their gaming tables. Hopefully after they finish the new addition they will focus on upgrading the existing hotel area. I left a complaint at the front desk about it and they said they would change it after we checked out - 3 days later. I will say one thing about the hotel portion of the stay - the mattress was very poor. The prices were actually better than many others I have had in Vegas or Laughlin, so overall it was the place to eat while there. The Buffet was excellent with a large variety of delicious foods to choose from. The Cafe was a bit slow each morning getting things together, and their toaster was not working so breakfast was without toast a couple mornings. Went on a bus trip to the San Diego area and they put us up at the Viejas Resort.
